PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Create and maintain the official website of the U.S. Office of Personnel Management and it's various micro-sites, internal tools, as well as the U.S. federal government's operating status mobile app.
UX RESEARCH
Our Design Team (ranges between 1-5 Designers & Ux Researchers over the years, most wear multiple hats) employs the Human Centered Design methodology and conducts different style of user testing based on the current project's scope, timeline, and resources.
DESIGN CONCEPT
Accessibility is a top priority for our design. We aim for our website to be easily navigated across various display types, and accessible to all users regardless of disabilities. Given the vast amount of pages on our site (30,000+ pages), our design also focuses on guiding users to relevant content through structured site content, individual page layouts, and search and content recommendations.
FINAL THOUGHTS
Working as a part of OPM's Web Team for almost 20 years has been an incredible experience. We have worked on multiple complete redesigns and mobile app developments to enhance our services for users. While the public sector may have previously been perceived as slow to adapt to new technology and conservative in their approach, times have certainly changed.
